2003 From the Rearview Mirror

The Apostle Paul wrote; “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

2003 was the year that the Supreme Court ruled that Texans have a constitutional right to sodomy, striking down a long-standing state law prohibiting it.

Another key legal ruling, this one by the Massachusetts Supreme Court, paved the way for legalizing gay marriages.

The revelations of rampant homosexuality among Catholic priests and the Vatican’s longstanding policy of covering up for pedophile priests in 2002 was followed by the elevation to bishop of Gene Robinson by the American Episcopal Church.

Gene Robinson was elevated to the post of Bishop of New Hampshire. Despite the fact he was a divorcee openly living in an active homosexual relationship.

A number of US parishes, including some within the New England state, announced that they were changing their names and setting up independently of the national church in protest.

Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant built his reputation as a role model for young people. He was charged in 2003 with raping a 19 year old woman.

The bizarre Michael Jackson was booked on multiple counts of child molestation as he protested that there was nothing wrong with sharing his bed with other people’s children.

Remarkably, many parents said they’d have no problem sending their kids to stay overnight at Jackson’s Neverland Ranch.

Rock and roll pioneer Phil Specter murdered an aspiring actress in his home. Singer R. Kelly was charged with statutory rape.

Madonna and Brittany Spears shared an open-mouthed kiss on national TV. Harry Potter, a series of books indoctrinating children into the occult, made its author richer than the Queen of England. One of the season’s top reality show hits is entitled ‘Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.’

And “50 Cents”, a former drug dealer from Queens who wore his multiple gunshot wounds as a badge of honor became the year’s most popular and best-selling artist.

The Year Hatred BECAME a Cause

The sense of unity that swelled across the country in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks faded, and heated rhetoric and finger-pointing returned as America edged closer to the 2004 presidential race.

The nine Democratic contenders for the presidential nomination united over a single issue in 2003. The only thing they seemed capable of agreeing on is how much they hate George Bush.

2003 was the year much of America was driven insane by hatred. How else can you explain Dean s statement that the capture of Saddam Hussein doesn t make America safer? Saddam went to war with America (twice), waged war against our allies, attempted to assassinate an American President and actively funded terrorism against the United States.

And Dean is the FRONT RUNNER for the nomination!

The nominees are vying with one another to see who can be the most sympathetic to America’s enemies.

Former General Wesley Clark said of the homicidal maniacs currently held at Gitmo Bay, “I think they should be tried. I think we should convene an international court like the international criminal court. Not as prisoners of war, but give them lawyers and put them on trial.”

Howard Dean came back with “Military tribunals that fail to protect the basic rights of the accused lessen our moral credibility in the eyes of the world.”

John Edwards worried, “They never see a lawyer, never see a judge, never get a hearing. These things violate the very heart and soul of this country.”

From Howard Dean to Hillary Clinton, American soldiers are being told they are risking their lives in a war that has no legitimacy and no support back home. Terrorists learn from our own leaders than their strategy is working.

Each new terror attack prompts new calls for America to pull out effectively handing victory to our enemies.

The Year America Rejected God

Despite the fact an overwhelming majority of Americans polled identify themselves as Christian, Christianity took its worst beating in American history in 2003. The Bible portrays the last days in terms that can only be described as spiritual madness a time of ‘strong delusion’. Consider this for delusion.

According to virtually EVERY poll, the majority of Americans are Christians. Yet practicing Christianity is think about this ALREADY illegal under many circumstances. Preaching certain parts of the Bible concerning homosexuality is considered a ‘hate crime’.

Liberals have launched an all out assault on anything Christian, from removing the 10 Commandments from public parks to trying to rename Christmas to keep from offending anybody.

Nobody is advocating renaming Hanukah, Ramadan or Kwanzaa to keep from offending America s Christian majority.

The Bryon Independent School District in California won a lawsuit filed by the American Center for Law and Justice. The ACLJ complained about a course entitled, “Islam: A Simulation of Islamic History and Culture”.

Handouts introduce the lessons by proclaiming, “You and your classmates will become Muslims”, accompany the book. The student assumes a Muslim name, wears Muslim clothes and even memorizes a prayer that includes the line, “Praise be to Allah, Lord of Creation.”

A federal district court ruled that teaching the fundamental tenets of Islam, including praying to Allah, does NOT constitute state-sponsored religious instruction.

If any state in America mandated a course whereby students were given handouts telling them they will become Christians, carry Bibles and be required to memorize the Lord’s Prayer, that course would not last through the first period.

For generations, Christians have been allowed to freely and openly worship in America. That is changing. As the servants of political correctness become bolder, the attacks against Christians will become more violent.

Assessment:

“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” (2 Peter 3:1-4)
